Winter at Peninsula Suites in Homer Alaska – What a getaway!


Kenai Peninsula Suites is a prime location for winter play. Ask about renting snow shoes or cross country skis. Ask Peninsula Suites staff about seasonal specials offered.

Homer is a wonderful place for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. We even have a ropetow for simple downhill skiing or snowboarding.


Trails abound. The closest trail is Baycrest, in walking distance, which offers approximately 40km of groomed trails. The Homestead Hiking trail is great for year round activities.

While in Homer, offering 8km of ski trails. This location is also open all seasons, 13 miles out East End road. A five km offered at Lookout Mountain off Olson Mountain road is another great option. For more trails, maps and more detailed information, check out Kachemak Nordic Ski Club’s website.

Every 1st Friday of the month the galleries open their doors to greet you with beverages and finger foods. The artist of the month is there to answer your questions and tell you about his or her art. Gallery receptions begin at 5pm. Often times, galleries may have classes or musicians. Pratt Museum

Go to the Pratt Museum where you can learn about our history, culture, flora, fauna. You can learn about the oil spill, spruce bark beetle, shipwrecks, homesteaders. You’ll find art and a nice little shop to browse. Don’t forget to take the kids to “feed the fish” Tuesdays and Fridays at 4pm!


Islands & Oceans Visitor Center

Alaska’s Islands and Ocean Visitor Center is open year round and offers educational displays on everything pertaining to our local islands and oceans. View a film about the Tiglax, a boat heading out to do scientific studies for the refuge and much more.
